TheraGenetics Names Richard P. Kivel Chief Executive Officer
London, UK – April 25, 2006 – TheraGenetics, Ltd., an emerging pharmacogenetic diagnostics company, developing personalized-medicine diagnostics for people suffering from various central nervous system (CNS) disorders, today announced the appointment of Richard P. Kivel as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kivel has served as CEO or President of multiple early-stage life science companies including, BioBehavioral Diagnostics, Trinity PharmaSolutions and MolecularWare, Inc., an MIT spin-out acquired in June 2003.

Mr. Kivel has a 20-year track record of leading high tech and biotechnology companies through the full corporate life cycle, from in-licensing technology, raising venture capital, hiring management, as well as completing mergers and acquisitions. He earned an M.S. in Management from Boston College, a B.A. from American International College and has completed the "Advanced Course in Genomics, Drug Discovery, Therapeutics and New Innovations" at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a graduate of the prestigious MIT Executive Management Program, "Birthing of Giants."
Mr. Kivel is a frequent guest lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management and has been a Judge for the MIT $50K / $100K Entrepreneurship Competition since 1998. Rich also serves on the Global Board of Directors of the MIT Enterprise Forum and a Lead Catalyst for the MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation and is a founding board member of Biolink USA-Ireland.
